How to Be a Confident Teenage Girl
Don't wonder anymore how to appear poised and perfect. These steps will give your self-esteem a boost. Just relax and be yourself!!!

Steps
Have good posture at all times (sitting, standing, walking) especially when you're walking alone.
Be well groomed. Wash your hair often (enough for your hair type), have your nails done (paint them light colours or clear). Never let your hair get messy, go to the bathroom during break to check on it and while you're there, apply your lip-gloss.
Have your own unique clothing style. Make sure you have a closet full of clothes that fit and are "you". Also buy cute underwear and be sure that it fits.
Jewelry. When you go shopping for jewelry, choose cute studs (especially for schools which have rules about jewelry), bold bracelets and necklaces (basic stuff). Then choose other stuff you like.
Make sure you always have pads/tampons in your bag at all times and change pads regularly to prevent accidents.
Do all your schoolwork and do your very best every time. Study for tests, do homework and all assigned reading. Answer questions in class and ask intelligent questions.
Speak properly (clearly and audibly) and don't swear a storm, unless you're really pissed off and even then don't swear in public.
Develop your talents, if you're good at dancing, take up a class and polish your skills, if you're good at sports, take lessons and join a team.
Watch TV shows and take note of behaviours (social) you like and blend hem into your daily life. Also, listen to lots of music you like. Get an iPod, MP3 player, or a CD player. Build a collection of CDs.
Let go of friends who do not respect you or like you for you.
Be nice to everyone you come across and smile at people when you pass them while walking.
Socialize and make friends with your parents (if possible) and make conversation with adults but remember to be polite.

Tips
Don't chew your nails. You can't paint them and make them look pretty if there isn't any nail left!
Always know what you're talking about. If you don't you'll end up looking stupid.

Warnings
Don't curse in front of boys (it's a big turnoff and makes you appear unintelligent and insecure)!

You might want to check out "Cute Costumes for Teenage Girls." The article features pictures of various teen costumes so you can quickly tell whether or not the looks will work for you. Be sure to click on the links because sometimes there are multiple versions of the same theme.

Most teenage girls we know generally go out in groups and love coordinating their costumes. One year all the high school girls dressed as storybook characters. Another year they all dressed in neon. So you might want to coordinate with your girlfriends before making your final choice. Some other fun coordinated options include crayons, candy, witches, goddesses, wizard of oz, bugs and animals, and superheroes. And of course, all of these ideas work, even you if choose not to coordinate your outfit with your friends.

This year there is a particularly cute group of Sesame Street Costumes available for teens/adults and some fun, new Goth looks. If the costume you like is a bit too revealing, just add a tank underneath and throw on some leggings.

You mentioned you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary? Rather than a generic nerd, you could go as Pippi Longstocking, or the gal version of Where's Waldo, or even girly up that Expedia gnome? How about creating your own graffiti costume or putting together a mismatched outfit? Or cook up a special Halloween costume by throwing on an apron and chef's hat -- use a kitchen pot as your trick or treat bag.

Hope this helps. Enjoy!
