backpacks for kids with food image

I once spent $20 on tickets with my friend to see the hobbit. We didn't spend a cent on food and we were almost starving to death for food.So how much do you spend at the movies.
Answer
When I was a single dad with my three kids (married now) I successfully saved lots of money while treating them to the movies. There are a couple of ways to do this. First offt go to a matinee. It's during the early afternoon but it's cheaper and they is usually less people there. Another thing to do is to simply bring your own food!
Theaters sell thier candy for $4-5 each and hotdogs range from $2-4 each! Sometimes more. Walmart sells the same candy for .98 cents. I buy one box of candy per kid. I save even more by bringing my own wieners. I cook the hot dogs, bun them and wrap them in foil. I usually buy a soda at the theater since its hard to conceal drinks. Most theaters check or refuse backpacks in the building so wear cargo pants or shorts. Food can usually fit perfectly in the cargo pockets. Overall Im easily saving about $20 each time.
A good tip: don't pass out the food until the theater lights go dark and everyone's paying attention to the screen. Even with the sound of unwrapping foil. Make sure you throw your garbage after the movie.
