high school questions... HELP ME!?

ILOVENIKKI

im going to high school in a 2-3 weeks and im really nervous because i moved to a new city and i only know 2 friends from church that are in the same grade as me and they're going with me to the same school.
but anyways im really nervous and anxious about high school, so i need some advice from your experience.
*what's high school like?

*what should i bring on the first day of school? ( i went online to see what to get or this year and it shows only the school supplies for middle and elementary schools, but not the high schools. WHY?)

* what should i wear on first day? ( i live with a single mom and she's on a tight budget. so i cant go and buy expensive clothes, shoes and accessories. my style is comfortable, bohemian/ indie and a little bit tomboy. im a little chubby but not overweight with a 34 DDD chest, so what clothes can accentuate that without looking trashy but can still hide my tummy. I HATE SHOPS LIKE AREOPOSTALE, ABROCOMBIE ETC. I HATE COPYING THE STYLE PEOPLE WEAR! i also dint like tank tops unless its used to layer clothes)

* i'm also thinking about buying scarves, since im not allowed to wear bold jewelry in school unless its earrings, but i don't know where to buy them.

*i'm getting a new school bag, but i don't know whether to pick a tote or a backpack. which do you think is gonna help me?

* in middle school i used a binder to carry everything from class to class and it was exhausting! im thinking about trying folders but i don't know how to organize myself.i I just don't wanna carry everything when all i need is some papers!

*im really shy at lunch because i didn't really talk much in middle school at lunch. so i how do i prevent this in high school? and do they allow people to go to the library at lunch, because im gonna go for a/p classes and im gonna need all the help/time i can get to study.

*im thinking about trying out for the dance team and volley ball and possibly tennis for the fall and swimming in the winter. what advice do you have that will help me with the tryouts. i at least have to be in one.

*any other tips you have, will help me so much..
please don't be rude on here!
im just new to this and all i needed are tips and answers not rude suggestions

Answer
*what's high school like?
- It's like a crazy place where there is peer pressuring, drugs and sex. Don't go for fum go to learn and be successful don't let anyone back you down.

*what should i bring on the first day of school?
Folder - for all the syllabuses, rules, guidelines, & supply lists that your teacher passes out
Pencil - Just in case your asked to do a small activity that involves writing
Paper - Again for the small activity
Locker items - If your locker was already given out to you then it's best to bring your lock & throughout the week you can bring your locker items.
Binder - Just a 1"
Backpack - To carry everything and sometimes teachers give out textbooks
Money - For lunch of something
And any girl/boy accessories that you may need. (ipod, phones, makeup, brushes, etc.)

* what should i wear on first day?
- A classic black V-Neck, skinny jeans and either black or white shoes

* i'm also thinking about buying scarves, since im not allowed to wear bold jewelry in school unless its earrings, but i don't know where to buy them.
- Any store try Charlotte Russe or Forever21

*i'm getting a new school bag, but i don't know whether to pick a tote or a backpack. which do you think is gonna help me?
- A Jansport defiantly, it's amazing it will last you a good 5 years, no kidding

* in middle school i used a binder to carry everything from class to class and it was exhausting! im thinking about trying folders but i don't know how to organize myself.i I just don't wanna carry everything when all i need is some papers!
- Have a binder for each of my core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies,English) with tabs (homework, test/quizzes, worksheets, notes). If you don't have tabs all of your work is scatted all over the place. You need easy access to your notes.Have a folder also for each subject (or just one) that has all of your homework for your classes. You can divide the homework with paperclips

*im really shy at lunch because i didn't really talk much in middle school at lunch. so i how do i prevent this in high school?
- I'm not sure it depends on your school but don't worry. Try making friends before lunch

*im thinking about trying out for the dance team and volley ball and possibly tennis for the fall and swimming in the winter. what advice do you have that will help me with the tryouts. i at least have to be in one.
- Exercise and practice those sports in the summer while you still have time so you can become better by time tryouts come

*any other tips you have, will help me so much..
1. Say hi to the person sitting next to you in each of your classes.
2. Go in with a positive attitude
3. Get to know your teacher's school emails so you can submit papers, ask questions etc.
4. Don't be embarrassed or afraid to raise your hand to ask questions.
5. If you fall behind make sure you get help right away because then you will fall so far behind you'll have a hard time getting back on track.
6. Buy a whiteboard/ cork-board for your room or one of those wipe off wall stickers, and write down the due dates of assignments, long term projects, extended homework, group work, trips anything important.
7. Buy a mini whiteboard for your locker or a few magnets and write down the same things.
8. If you have no one to sit with at lunch sit alone, someone will come over to you :)
9. Get the phone number of someone in each of your classes for homework etc.
10. Take notes.
11. Keep your notes organized!!!!
12. You don't need a boyfriend to make you happy.
13. Don't ever lose a friend over a boy.
14. Getting into fights is not cute
15. Be assertive not to nice, not to mean.
16. Don't let people tale advantage of you.
17. If you happen to go out with an upperclassmen be careful. If a senior is after you they usually do want one thing. Now this doesn't mean that you have to stay away because there are very nice guys too.
18. You are not in love with someone after a month.
19. Juniors and seniors will leave you alone for the most part, sophomores are a different story.
20. Never go to a party alone. EVER
21. Unless you can drive don't have a friend suggest driving you to and from somewhere unless you know 100% there is a designated driver or your friend will not drink. ( yes high school parties have drinking)
22. Don't do drugs
23. Surround yourself with positive people
24. Join clubs, teams and things you like because you like it not to fit in.
25. Always make time for friends
26. Even best friends let secrets go, be mindful of what you tell who.
27. Don't listen to or spread rumors. Your eyes are the witness of the truth
28. If you have a problem talk it out. Tell your friend but ideally find an adult whom you trust completely to talk you through what's wrong.
29. Having a relationship with your parents is important.
30. Someone, somewhere will have a problem with you. Be the bigger person and ignore it.
