Why do teenage girls starve themselves to like like a models?

I don't get it. Why do teenage girls starve themselves? I know that the main thing is being yourself, but why do they think that starving themselves will make them look like super models? Starving yourself will reduce the amount of hormones flowing through your body, which can stunt your growth and keep you from having nice long beautiful legs. In fact, most models are actually around 6 feet tall. It also will keep your face from restructuring it's self to look more adult and mature, and can give you the baby face look. Who wants to be in their 20's looking like a 14 year old? So, it's better that they just eat a proper, nutritious meal with regular exercise rather than starving themselves, so they can grow into beautiful women. I think that more mature looking women are more beautiful. Yes, some models do starve themselves, but most of them are already full grown. Their are teenage models, but their not as good looking as full grown ones.

It is a vicious cycle, and it is made even more tragic by the media that makes it seem like a cool thing to do.
