Im thinking of starting backpack drive for underpriveledged kids in other countries. Where can i donate the backpack(filled with school supplies)? I was thinking about the guy from three cups of tea but i dont have his email. Anybody know any other good school organizations? ty!
Hasnt anybody read the book "three cups of tea"? Its very good, but i was wondering if there was another organization similar to this one. Keep in mind that this will be hundred(s maybe) of backpacks.

If you are wanting to help schools how about a school in Haiti, it is the poorest nation in the world and I can vouch for that. I have been there just recently. A local ministry goes there at least twice a year ministering to the kids and visiting the schools, there needs are overwhelming, The name of the ministry is Bro.Joe Mobley (Crusades for Christ), PO Box 238, London KY,40741-0238, their web address is www. brojoe.com, email joe@brojoe.com. We we were there we took some pictures of the kids to set up a database to start sponsorship. Port au Prince has over 3 million people in it and that is just way more than they can handle, If you have any questions you can send me an email, 100% of money given to the sponsored kids program goes to the kids, all of it. God Bless You and Good Luck!!

short term mission trip ideas for a track team?
Lincoln13
Last year, a few of us (9) from my track team went on a mission trip to the Dream Center in Los Angeles. It was an amazing time and we would like to go on another mission trip this year. The Dream Center was perfect because all we had to do was show up. They organized and led all the outreaches and ministry activities that we did. Our trip was completely student initiated and student led. So we are looking for another location (although going back to the LA Dream Center is still an option) where we can take probably 20-25 people. Any thoughts or ideas? We would love to get out of the country, but we have very little experience with actually developing the events that take place once we get there...accomodations, etc...

How about your own back yard??
I am so sick of high school and middle school kids going across the country to find "ministry opportunities" when there are plenty of needy and unsaved people in your own area. Even if you live in a small town, every small town is within driving distance of a bigger city - or a trailer park.
Clean up a park for some kids and serve a big lunch to everyone who shows up. Pack a bunch of backpacks for kids going back to school with no money for supplies. Evangelize the people who come to benefit from your charity work.
Save the travel money and spend it on people in need. And clean up your own backyard before you clean up everyone else's. International missions are one thing - going on vacation is another.
