I am interested in visiting Bali or South Africa next year. Do you recommend GAP Adventures? I may be travelling solo. Are the travel guides professional?

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no
Nooooooooooooooooooo Waaaaaaaaaaay
There are hundreds of girls backpacking South Africa, many of them traveling alone but they are not alone all the time.
When you travel you meet people and sometimes team up for a few days if you're going the same way...it's fun.
A few idiots paid firms like Gap Adventures to do all the organizing for a huge fee.
Do it all yourself without paying overpriced agents and travel firms and then you'll have much more to spend on enjoying yourself and you'll be going where you want when you want instead of having an itinerary made out for you.
It's very very very very very very very very easy.
1....book an airline ticket through Travelocity or similar or directly with the airline.
2....Book a hostel for the first couple of nights so you have an address to show to immigration and you won't look like a suspicious character with nowhere to go.
3... Get a local bus or whatever...or, some hostels will pick you up from the airport.....and get to the hostel.
Shower, change, relax, get to the kitchen or eat out, chat to people in the lounge, make new friends from anywhere in the world.
It's what backpacker hostels are for...somewhere cheap and safe to stay and meet others who are doing some traveling.
4... Book the next hostel when you've decided where to go next. All the hostels have internet so you can book buses trains flights hostels and hotels, email home and friends, and research a few destinations.
5...When it's time to come home get to the city nearest to the airport the day before the flight or a bit earlier...it's a last -chance flight. Don't get stuck 300 miles from the airport cos the flight isn't till late this evening and the bus gets in five hours before....the bus will choose that day to break down, haha.
Keep safe timing.....no last minute rush for the flight.
6 Get home, say Hi Mom and start saving for the next trip...you'll be hooked.

Doing it..
.Airline tickets. Check the price for months ahead and look for the lowest price. Then you know the time scale to book your own ticket. Prices start high, then dip, then rise again.
Hostels...Hostelbookers, Hostelworld, Hostelz.com etc all reliable. Pay a small deposit on line when you book.
The hostel will have your booking and the deposit recorded...anywhere in the world, even in Russia or Outer Mongolia or Vietnam or Cambodia....I've done five continents, more than thirty trips, and never ever had a problem.
South African hostels are very very cheap and they have a high standard.
http://www.hostelbookers.com/ . . . . . . .
Don't pack too much. You can buy everything you need very cheaply in South Africa
Example of how to do it...for Macchu Picchu in Peru...for a single lady...safely and cheaply.

Eurotrip gap year help?

Dibley92

Ok so me and a few friends are going to europe for a 2-3 month gap year holiday next year. Were probably going to be backpacking and were curious which countries are reputed as having the most attractive women and which places are generally the best to visit for young guys. For instance were not looking for great historic culture so much as a good nightlife, friendly people and sublime scenery.

Answer
