OK, well I'm going to the 8th grade, and i want to get the perfect bag for me, since the 6th grade and 7th i ALWAYS been a TranSport fan. But what i have noticed in the 7th grade people are carrying totes, or book bags that are not full. My backpack is SUPER full, and its big too. and for a small petite girl like me, it just looks BAD. I try to clean out stuff and everything but everything in my bag is what i really need. and i want my 8th grade year to be the best it can be. I don't want to be carrying something heavy on my back anymore! And i think whats the problem is that my dad likes to pack me a really big lunch(since i cannot eat at school cafeteria, because i will pay to much $) in a lunch box, and if i get a tote bag, it will just look BIG. I'm in AVID and we are suppose to carry a 3 inch binder. but i carry a 1 inch binder. I'm thinking of just getting one of those regular backpacks like this from TranSport:http://www.tillys.com/tillys/variants.aspx?prod=144319765&ctlg=020_Girls&cid=1094&source=1&size= . But, if i carry the lunch, and all the necessity it might not even fit! It will just look SUPER BIG.Because the book bag is really small. I really want to carry a tote super badly. But, i cant seem to find a tote that can fit: a 1 or 2 inch binder, and just a little bit of room to fit my lunch.AND, still wont look big on me. I would like it to be over my shoulder BUT also on my shoulder here is a example:http://store.delias.com/item.do?itemID=52795&categoryID=416&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter= . Sorry for the long paragraph. i would SUPER DUPER appreciate it if you helped me found a perfect backpack for me. And a little help to with stuff i REALLY need in my bag. THANKS! :)
And btw, i forgot we dont have any lockers

Well, you can try carrying some of your textbooks and maybe your binder sometimes so that your book bag doesn't look as big. As for your lunch, can't you leave it in a classroom and get it at lunch time? Well I'm not sure how that works in your school but in my "Avid" classes (I'm guessing these are the advanced classes? Ours are called Probe though) we only have two core subject teachers and they are usually right next door to each other so it's easy to just leave something in one room and get it later.
I remember I switched to totes in 7th grade and they would always just get WRECKED with all the textbooks and stuff I had to carry. Also, the strap would hurt after awhile because of how heavy it was. So if you do use totes just remember to get a really sturdy one. :) My friend has a tote from Abercrombie that she has been carrying since 7th grade and she has enough room for two textbooks, her binder, and some folders plus pens/pencils/ipod/etc. And she carries a paper bag lunch in there too, but it's very small. So maybe this could work for you?
I hope I helped :)

What bags do you recommend taking to school?
Q. In a little bit over a month, I am going to be returning to school again. I am going to need a large bag for my academics because my school has scheduling where we have all seven classes, and need all of our textbooks and materials for seven classes, one day a week. Otherwise, we have normal "block scheduling", which I am sure you are all familiar with. In the past, I have used backpacks and a messenger bag (I hated the messenger bag). Since using a locker is kind of a variable, and I will most likely end up carrying around my backpack all day, I am interested in a bag that can manage my needs... but that is also stylish! I know a lot of my friends carry purses to school, and although I love purses, I just can't see adding yet another bag to my daily load.
In addition to this, I am going to need a bag for field hockey practice every day after school. I know a lot of stick bags are either intended for one stick and nothing else, or are so bulky that they can fit eight sticks and still have spare room! I am also not interested in anything similar to one of the STX stick backpacks because they aren't practical to carry in addition to my academics bag. This bag doesn't need to be extremely large, but just enough room for two pairs of shoes (cleats and running shoes), shin guards and socks, water bottle, mouth guard, and my one stick. I'm really not interested in style options on this bag.
Lastly, I am in search of a new lunchbox. I am not interested in the food that they serve in the cafeteria, or the lines you must wait through to get the so-so food. My last lunchbox just went kaput, and I hated it anyways. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good (fashionable AND functional) lunchboxes. Preferably one that can fit a water bottle in it as well. I don't know if this influences your input, but I do tend to carry my lunchbox inside of my backpack (as it is one less bag to carry).
Thank you so much for reading all of that, and inputting your ideas! (:
