How can I keep my laptop protected when I put it in a schoolbag?

I need to bring my laptop to school but I don't have a laptop bag for it or a sleeve so my only option is to put it in my school bag but I'm worried it will get damaged.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I can protect it?

Wrap it up in a couple of fluffy bath towels. The Towels should keep from being scratched and provide some cushion.

I recently purchased a nice full size (not net-book) Gateway Laptop. It has anti-virus software. I'm just worried about physical damage to it if when I bring it to school in my back pack. What is the best thing to protect it. A good small light weight case (I can't bring a laptop bag) or a cover (specify which one). Please it would be awesome to know how to keep it safe and scuff free.

Get a soft, patted computer case for your labtop. Always hold it with two hands becasue someone may bump you when switching classes. Dont set it on ground, for someone may Step or spill something on it. When you put it in your locker ways put it on a flat serfice to the nearest back wall. And Make sure the case is bright so people can see it and be aware of it. =)
