girls backpacks surf image
Q. I am a girl, 18, like 5'5 and 110 pounds. I love to go in the pits at concerts and I've been in some heavy ones so I might go into the pit at warped if there is other girls, because I don't want to ruin the guys time by being the only girl.
But I've never been to warped so what should I bring? I want to be in the crowd, crowd surfing, moshing, etc. So I want to get very physical.
I just have never been there so what's it like, what should I bring/not bring, etc?
I want merch so I'll bring loads of money and is there like meet and greet passes or VIP passes?
I know to wear sunscreen, loose fit clothing, tie my hair back, little makeup.
Since I like to get far in the crowd and surf and stuff should I bring one of those bags that you tie or whatever they're called? I'll probably go with a lot of people and I have friends who probably won't want to get in the crowd so I could leave my bag with them.
I just want to know what it's like and what I need to prepare for.
Thanks :-)
I honestly don't care about being groped. Shit happens, I don't care. I won't keep any valuable stuff on me while in the crowd.

Answer
Okay. Here's the rundown.
Before going to Warped
- eat something first. Not too much, not too little. Just so you have something in your system.
- plan what bands you want to see.
- drink lots of water the night before.
- charge your phone. Obviously.
- sunscreen during and before the show! Especially if you burn easily, or at all. Do it, sunburns suck.
- DON'T wear makeup. FORBIDDEN. It will 99.99% be hot, and you don't want to have to worry about it. I never wear makeup to concerts, now even waterproof.
What to carry your stuff in
- Bring a bag (cinch/drawstring bag or small backpack) I personally don't like drawstrings because they dig Into my shoulders and I just use a small backpack. But, it's your preference.
- no big backpacks or purses.
- They give you en epitaph bag when you're in line at the venue, so you could bring no bag if you really wanted to.
Water
- Bring a sealed water bottle and an empty reusable bottle.
-to buy water is $3.
- some venues take caps if you buy water there. I was lucky and mine didn't.
- They have something called the Kleen Kanteen water refill stations where you can just go refill your bottles. It's really helpful.
Snacks
- you can bring in a small snack.
- sometimes the person looking through your bag take it, but they let you keep it most of the time.
Money
- bring a little more than you think you'll need. I brought about $100 dollars and had a good chunk of money left.
- keep in mind, you'll probably want to buy merch, food, and water.
Other Things To Bring
- sharpie (for signings)
- rag (wiping of sweat)
- stuff to get signed (unless you have to buy something)
- hair ties
Arrival
-get there early.
-get a skip the line pass. (you have to give food cans or $5 at the tent)
Plan
- there is a hue inflatable with set times in the venue
- buy $2 paper with a map and set times, it makes it so much easier.
Meet & Greets
- plan ahead who you want to meet.
- go to the band's tent to see if they're having a meet & greet.
- if you can't find a bands tent, ask around.
Clothes
- NO flip flops l. NEVER. Your feet will et horribly gross, they will get stepped on so much, and you'll lose at least one of them more likely than not.
- no dresses or tube tops.
- wear light clothes (shorts and tank top, etc). It will be hot
Rest
- don't go to set after set after set or you will lose a lot of energy.
- find places to rest between sets with shade. What I did was go to the DigiTech stage. You can really find any small stage. I did this a couple times and you can just sit and rest, and usually there are small bands or artists playing there.
Beware:
-don't enter mosh pits if you can't hold your own. don't even enter the crowd if you're too weak. people can be rough.
Getting To The Front
- get to the stage early.
- watch the band before that and try to get up front then.
- run through circle pits to get up closer. It worked very well for my friend and I.
With Friends
- its usually better to stay together.
- if you and your friends want to see different bands, have a meeting spot planned out.
That's all of the tips I thought of! It's pretty much EVERYTHING you need to know and I hope it helped. I've gone to Warped Tour twice so I pretty much know what to expect. It's the best time of the my life.. Have fun :)

in June/July...camping with a backpack! thanks..im a girl.
Answer
Wow, lucky you!
Pack as lightly as you can -- these would be the maximum clothing I would pack: 1 pair jeans, 1 bathing suit, 1 pair black pants and a pair of nice black flats (only if you think you will need dress clothes), 4 t-shirts or tops, 1 bra, 1 pair shorts, 5 pair underwear, 5 pairs of socks and whatever shoes you wear on the beach...then pack whatever camping gear you are taking (I'm not as familiar with camping gear). Wear a second pair of jeans, t-shirt and jacket on the plane along with your walking shoes/hiking boots.
